Paige Newton, Owner

Hi. I’m Paige (she/her). I love collaborating with other creatives or helping non-creatives get to where they want to be with their brand. It’s my goal to make you feel as comfortable as possible while still getting the job done. Whether we’re snapping looks for your personal brand or we’re spending a few days together shooting the look book for your product line, I am here to make this process as seamless as possible. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me swimming, eating, or hanging in my South Austin home with my Aussie husband and pup Sydney.

I would love to hear what you have in mind for your project!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

My best work is achieved when I work with likeminded individuals.

What do I believe? That black lives matter! That striving to be an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community is extremely important. That we should have gun control. That you should get vaccinated if you're able. That climate change is very, very real. That families belong together. And that a woman should be able to do whatever she wants with her body, thank you very much.

While we certainly don’t have to agree about everything to work together, I do prefer to work with people who display empathy and believe in human decency and kindness.

Why Photography is a Worthwhile Investment

These majorly talented photographers broke this concept down way better than I ever could, right here:

Big thanks to Weekend Creative for this absolutely thorough and amazing explanation. Don’t feel like reading it? I’m happy to summarize:

To keep it simple- good photography helps you make that money, honey!

If you don’t frequently work with commercial photographers, it’s very understandable that you might not have any idea about what you should be spending to receive high quality photography. And that’s okay!

It can be absolutely terrifying to see a photography quote for your project- especially when it’s for a commercial product. To put it bluntly, it’s not cheap. But I promise, it’s worth every penny.

So why is it so expensive?

Photographers have equipment, location rentals, rent, design services, web hosting… the list of things that help us keep our business running never ends. An enormous percentage of the money you pay us doesn’t go to our travel fund, it goes to covering those expenses.

While I LOVE my job, it takes A LOT of work. There are hundreds of unseen hours that aren’t often considered by clients. It’s not just the shoot itself. There’s all of the communication with our clients, researching and prepping for the shoot, sourcing props, organizing talent and call sheets, post production… whew, I’m tired just thinking about it.

When you hire me, you’re not just paying for my time but you’re paying for my talent, experience, skill, style, and creativity. Sometimes our clients require us to also be art directors, set designers, and other roles besides just photographer (I think it goes without saying that when you require us to do more than one job, you should be paying us for more than one job).

Like I said before, photography helps your business make money. It’s a major asset for your marketing and social media- it’s literally how you show the world what you’re selling. There is major value in that.

I get it- money doesn’t grow on trees y’all. I absolutely respect if you have a budget that can’t change.. My prices are thoughtfully created so that I can provide the best service to you.  If my estimate and your budget don’t currently align, it’s all good.

But guess what, you get what you pay for.
